New automotive jobs in Victoria
More than 250 new jobs have been created in Victoria,Â after NexteerÂ Automotive AustraliaÂ were awarded $63 million through the Federal Governmentâ€™s Green Car Innovation Fund.
The funding boost is part of the federalÂ governmentâ€™s $5.4 billion New Car Plan to grow Australia’s car manufacturing sector. Nexteer, which has a manufacturing plant in Somerton, in north west Victoria, Â plans to develop and manufacture electric power steering systems, lightweight steering columns and drive line components to make vehicles lighter and more fuel efficient.
