Melbourne is number one – yet again!
Melbourne has again been recognised as the best city in the world to live, topping the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) 2014 Global Liveability Index for the fourth year in a row.
Ranked first, Melbourne scored a perfect 100 in healthcare, education and infrastructure and within the culture and environment basket, a perfect 100 on sport.
The news comes only weeks after Melbourne, topped culture and lifestyle magazine Monocle’s Quality of Life Survey 2014 and voted most friendly in a survey undertaken by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
Those behind the annual Readers’ Choice Survey said it was “no surprise readers adore Melbourne”, which was commended for being one of the “classiest cities in the world”.
Called “capital of cool” Melbourne was praised for boasting an abundance of amazing nightlife, food and hotels, but was also praised for its parks and “fabulous” public art, and its people’s “wonderful sense of humour”.
