Doctors desert UK for Australia
Half of all senior doctor positions in Accident and Emergency departments in the UK are going unfilled as physicians head overseas.
That’s according to the College of Emergency Medicine, who have released a report stating that more than half of all registrar posts in A&E have been going unfilled for three years. The reason for this, says the CEM, is that doctors are now switching to more lucrative positions abroad, with Australia high on the agenda.
Indeed, research shows that more than half of trainees in Western Australia are British graduates.
