Emigration and jobs expo for downunder comes to Newcastle

The dream of a new life in Australia or New Zealand could soon become a reality for thousands in the North East, as a new event for downunder comes to Newcastle on the 11th & 12th May.

Australia needs skilled workers ; an estimated 500,000 in Western Australia alone, as the resources boom continues to create job opportunities across the state. In New Zealand, the Christchurch earthquake requires skilled migrants to help rebuild the city, and as both countries seek skilled workers, there are real jobs available.

Already established as the UK’s number one event for jobs and emigration advice, Down Under Live arrives in Newcastle, bringing hundreds of job opportunities and the chance of a new start in the sun.

Visitors to the event in Newcastle can speak to the state governments of Western Australia and Victoria, find roles in Australia and New Zealand, get a free visa assessment for Australia, and listen to a full day of seminar talks.  A wide range of roles are being recruited for, including nursing professionals, construction workers, physiotherapists, teachers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, engineers, fitters, mechanics, chefs, project managers, roofers, painter decorators, cooks, massage therapists and a host of other roles.

The dream of a new life in New Zealand persuaded Rebecca Burdett and her family to move from Newcastle to Auckland in 2012. Enjoying her new outdoors life with idyllic summer evenings, she has no doubt she made the right decision. “Our advice for other Brits wanting to move here is don’t give up, even if it seems impossible, and if you get the opportunity, don’t think twice!” she says.

Down Under Live, the UK’s number one jobs and emigration event, will be at The Assembly Rooms, Fenkle Street, Newcastle, on the 11th & 12th May 2013. Doors open at 10am and tickets cost £10 in advance. Tickets can be purchased either online (www.downunderlive.co.uk) or on the door.
