Strong NZ dollar drives down visitor numbers from UK
The strong NZ dollar and weak pound has seen visitor numbers from the United Kingdom to New Zealand fall by around 9% year on year. Figures from Statistics New Zealand reveal that 0ver 27,000 less visitors travelled to NZ in 2008.
The trend affected virtually every visitor country barring Australia, who like NZ have a strong currencyand a more robust economy.
