Down Under Live delivers yet again !!
The Down Under Live events in London and Birmingham were the busiest yet, with more than 6,500 people visiting the shows over two weekends in September. This represents a 35% increase in visitors year on year, and is clear testimony to the quality of the event.
The Birmingham event drew the biggest crowds in the history of the event.
Exhibitors pronounced themselves delighted with the high volume of visitors and the quality; with many skilled professionals packing the hall to find a new job and life downunder.2011 has seen a rise in the number of recruiters and employers using Down Under Live as a way of meeting and recruiting candidates and that is likely to increase in 2012 as both Australia and New Zealand continue to suffer chronic skill shortages.
Queues were round the block for visa assessments, state governments, recruiters and the new Global Skills Zone, a unique selling point for Down Under Live. There were also packed sessions on the seminar stages, with hundreds of visitors listening to a seminar programme generally acknowledged to be the best in the industry.
John Weir, director of show organisers Evolve, says “We’re delighted that the shows are proving so popular with visitors and exhibitors alike. We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure Down Under Live delivers both the numbers and quality of visitors, and we’ve got some great innovations planned for 2012 that will ensure we remain the UK’s number one for downunder.â€
