New automotive jobs in Victoria
More than 250 new jobs have been created in Victoria, after Nexteer Automotive Australia were awarded $63 million through the Federal Government’s Green Car Innovation Fund.
The funding boost is part of the federal government’s $5.4 billion New Car Plan to grow Australia’s car manufacturing sector. Nexteer, which has a manufacturing plant in Somerton, in north west Victoria,  plans to develop and manufacture electric power steering systems, lightweight steering columns and drive line components to make vehicles lighter and more fuel efficient.
