Qantas aims for non stop flights from the UK to Oz

Australian flag carrier Qantas is looking to announce its first Dreamliner routes by the end of 2016; with a direct service between London and Perth a distinct possibility.

The airline will receive its first Boeing 787 – also known as the Dreamliner – next year, but will announce new routes for the plane by December 2016.If the London-Perth service is given the go-ahead, it would rival the current longest flight in the world, the Emirates Dubai to Auckland service, which clocks in at 8,819 miles and takes 17 hours and 15 minutes.

Currently airline travel to and from Australia involves a stopover, making the journey time over 21 hours as a minimum.
